Message from Departing 2024 Chair, Zach Kauk

Happy New Year to all of our Wilderness fans! I have had the honor and privilege of leading ESWA in 2024 and I'm proud of what we accomplished with our increase in volunteers, our new website, our refreshed advocacy program, our bridge-building projects, and our growing partnership with the USFS. However, I feel our biggest accomplishment has been our continued drive to strengthen our leadership team by engaging a number of new and highly qualified individuals as part of the group. One great example of that is the engagement of Eric Malmborg as our 2025 ESWA Chair. I'm thrilled to have Eric take over leadership of the organization. As you'll see very quickly, he is action oriented and will relentlessly fight for the Wilderness and our Wilderness initiatives.
